Spamdexing
Spamdexing or simply spam, include all activities, which help to achieve a better page rank, but don't respect the policies of search engines. The various search engines have different definitions of what actions count as spam. Each search engine has its own guidelines. If a search engine finds spam on a web page, it will get a worse ranking or in worst case, it might lead to the exclusion from the database of the search engine. This is also a case by case basis to distinguish, how long such a penalty is applied. We distinguish between temporary and lasting penalties. The penalty is usually done immediately; it will not be announced beforehand. Even if the used spam method isn't directly detected by the search engine, there is the danger that users of the website report in each search engine.
