SERPS Pollution is an acronym for "Search Engine Results Page Pollution". So this is the pollution of a search engine results page. Pages, which aren't relevant for the user, are called "dirt". Usually, these are only displayed because a keyword the user is looking for, appears in the title but not in the text and thus it is not relevant for the desired search. They are also known as false drops. Moreover, often it is also a linked list, doorway- or affiliate pages. Usually they have no content. Some search engines evaluate sites such as spam and punish them with a bad page rank or a complete exclusion from the dataset of the search engine. SERPS Pollution is only a waste of time for the user, because he clicks through the pages, but he never gets the desired search results.
