Ranking Update
When talking about ranking update, we mean two different processes. The first form of the update is to update the update the search index. The index of search engines is updated regularly. The re-calculation of the rankings takes several days for Google, and it is called "Google dance" in insider circles, because there is a continuing movement and swapping of the positions between the websites. After a ranking update, a website can move several places up or down. This is the reason why search engine optimizers have to update their pages with regards to contents and links, so that there is no immense degradation after a ranking update. The second form of the ranking update relates to the changes, the search engine does within its algorithm.
