Link

The linking of two sites on the internet is referred to the term hyperlink, short: link. Other labeling of "linking": cross-reference, and footnote. Basically, outside the internet there are links, too. For example: if two files are linked. In everyday language, by link we mean an internet shortcut within a hypertext system. We are talking about a linked document, if there is at least one link which refers to a document. Links are usually HTML tags, in turn, browsed by the search engines for the evaluation of web pages for the ranking. They serve small, independent programs.
