Link farms are many mutually linked pages on different domains. The objective of an entry into a link farm is to increase its own link popularity. These sites have an optimal density for the keyword query. They are freely accessible for everyone, but search engine count this as manipulation and it is accordingly punished. The technique of most search engines is able to recognize this manipulation by now. So, the entry into a link farm is not recommended because there are more disadvantages than advantages.
