The so called Google Dane is the regularly carried out index update of the search engine. As a result of that the search engine “acts” strange in that time span. The update of the indices is taken place once a month. While doing so the complete cache is being revised and it can happen that new received sites are showing up at the very top of the search results in that time. Since the year 2003 the update at Google are taken place in a smaller scale, so the consequences of the Google Dance do not have such an effect on the results. These little updates are, however, only superficial and can still have effect on the search results. To have new sites completely indexed it is not possible to go without Google Dance. The search results of Google are taken from over 10,000 servers. These are not updated at the same time; the new index is copied on the servers step-by-step.
