There are link-lists, where everybody can register for free. These lists are called FFA – “Fee For All”. In such a list, every website can be registered. The website will be taken up into the databank of the list immediately, usually without any editorial check. The quality of a free link-list is hard to evaluate. Websites get higher link popularity by making such an entry, so they get a better position on result pages of the search engine. FFA-lists often consist links, which do not lead to any sites. This brings about that many search engine algorithms – amongst others Google – don’t count the ratings of such link-lists. This leads us to the conclusion, that an entry in an FFA List is valued negatively and is no good for the optimization.
