Doorway Page
If the website doesn’t reach a favorable position in the ranking of the search engines, doorway pages will be installed, which are only used for the positioning. When entering a term, the visitor often finds such a Doorway page which links him automatically to the homepage of the actual website. To get a better ranking in search engines and to improve the link popularity, such doorway pages are laced with keywords. Better search engines can recognize such tries, for the improvement of the positioning and therefore they value such pages negatively or as spam. Loads of other relationships for doorway pages bear on the same procedure: hallway-page, jump-page, gateway-site or gateway-page. All these can be created manually or automatically in big quantities.
