Blog-Spam

Mainly, spam is the electronic messages (e-mails, newsletter), which the recipient gets without wanting it. Mostly these include erotic or pharmacy products or productivity. Such messages can be sorted with a spam-filter. It either blocks the messages or it saves them in a separate folder. This way, the e-mail-appearance is definitely reduced.
Blog-spam is a question of e-mails and automatically generated blog-entries. This deals with manually or automated scripts. Mostly they contain a link to a certain website. This way the websites-licensee can improve his link-popularity. So, the linked site will get a better page-ranking and therefore a better position. Guestbook-spamming works similarly: unwanted messages will be inserted in the certain guestbook, containing a (this special) link. In both cases, the indices of the search engines, which evaluate blogs and guestbooks, will be manipulated.
