Automatic Redirections

Automatic redirections are used, if e.g. a website reachable at another URL. This avoids the “Error 404 – Page not found”, which would be shown if you would click the site in the list of results in a search engine. The redirection is realizable in two ways. Firstly, some settings can set met on the web server, which says that, as the URL is called, the other destination address will be loaded automatically in the web browser. And secondly, a little info-site can be established, with the address of the new site. Here, with a script, the visitor can be redirected after a certain period of time to the new address. But there should be an alternative link, too, where the visitor can control the destination himself.
You should use one of the two ways of redirection, because, usually, the user does not search for the new address himself and if the site is unreachable, he might go to a similar page of another vendor. With redirection, you can avoid another registration, and that search engines loose you and that your page gets a worse ranking.
