ALT-tags

While loading a site – during surfing – ALT-tags (tag = selection, etiquette; ALT = abbr. for alternative text) replace graphics and pictures, until they are set. If the graphics and the pictures aren’t shown (e.g. because of a missing software) so the etiquettes remain shown. If the user goes with the cursor on a graphic or on a picture, also, an ALT-tag comes. Every ALT-tag is in the same time a HTML-attribute, so an indicating label comes, where the graphic/picture is missing, yet. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) prefers such an attribute for a valid source code. This necessary procedure can be utilized for the optimization of the page as to search engines, by the keywords describe a picture of a graphic. Such a keyword helps the user orientating on the certain internet site and Google considers this, too. But you shouldn’t fill an ALT-tag with excessive terms (keyword-stuffing).
